Exclusive treetop cabins on Bornholm

Løvtag Bornholm consists of three of our exclusive treetop cabins: Myr, Eng, and Tre. They are built in the trees of a small, cozy forest in Rutsker Højlyng in Northern Bornholm, 10 km from Gudhjem.

The forest is a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees, with raw bedrock visible throughout the forest floor. In the middle of the forest, you’ll find the hidden forest lake Tværmyr, which you have access to via a private bathing jetty.

Book your stay at Løvtag Bornholm using the calendar below, and read more about the area further down.

Please note that the photos shown here are from our cabins by Mariager Fjord. The cabins on Bornholm are identical, and the photographer is on the way.

Cabin locations

Løvtag Bornholm’s three treetop cabins are spread out in the forest with approximately 40–50 meters between them, allowing you to enjoy the forest in peace and privacy.

The cabins are identical in design, but the views, natural light, and other details vary depending on the unique characteristics of their specific spots in the forest.

On the map below, you can see how the cabins are situated within the area.

Restaurants and grocery shopping

Restaurants: Both Restaurant Stammershalle and Melsted Badehotel offer fine dining in a relaxed setting. The Michelin-starred restaurant Kadeau is also well worth a visit.

We also highly recommend enjoying a herring at Nordbornholms Røgeri, exploring the wine selection at Provianten in Gudhjem, and having a sundowner at Pilegård Cideri.

Groceries: Try local farm shops like Krogsholm's Fruit or Høstet. The local SuperBrugsen in Klemensker also has a great selection of local products.

Expand your vacation with a stay at Birkelund

If your stay at Løvtag is part of a longer trip to Bornholm, you can combine it with a stay at the nearby farm, Birkelund.

Here you’ll find five charming holiday apartments surrounded by forests, meadows, and lakes—right in the heart of the beautiful natural areas of Rutsker Højlyng and Spellinge Mose.

Nature experiences

There are plenty of opportunities to combine a treetop stay with an active holiday in nature.

Løvtag Bornholm is located right on the Højlyng Trail—a 67 km hiking route that stretches across Bornholm from Hammerknuden to Årsdale. The area also offers several beautiful cycling routes.

In the primeval forest of Døndalen, you’ll find Denmark’s highest waterfall, located near the dramatic rock formations of Sorte Gryde and the Helligdom Cliffs.

Cultural experiences

We recommend a visit to the Bornholm Art Museum, located just 5 km from Løvtag Bornholm. In addition, the island is full of small galleries, ceramic studios, and glassblowers to explore.

Bornholm’s Medieval Centre and the impressive Hammershus Castle are also well worth a visit—and if you're traveling with children, we highly recommend the treasure hunt experience The Mystery of Hammershus.

The local music scene is diverse, ranging from concerts at Gæstgiveren in Allinge and Svanekegaarden to church concerts and informal mini-concerts held throughout the area.
